My wife and I had just moved into a house with two chimneys and we were looking for a reputable, certified, and trustworthy company to clean, issue maintenance, and to certify these for use.
I should mention that we had never before had chimneys, and weren’t that knowledgeable of what was involved.
After shopping for a while, we had two different companies assess our chimneys and provide quotes for the work. In both cases they were extreme in terms of repairs and cost. We were at a loss to understand why this was so and could receive only vague explanations.
I decided to contact Kiwi Chimney for a third quote, thankfully. Upon inspection, Brad suggested an alternate approach for restoring the chimneys that would not only be permanent, but would cost much less.
Additionally, he took the time to explain why the other approaches were short term and would have resulted in further maintenance in the future.
Brad was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He made extra efforts to adapt to our busy schedules and quickly had our chimneys working for the winter.
Kiwi Chimney was able to provide a level of personal attention and thoroughness that the other companies clearly lacked. In particular, it was immediately clear that Brad was genuinely concerned that we establish a safe and properly working set of chimneys for our house, and that he enjoyed working with people to do so.
We cannot have been more pleased with the service and have every intention of continuing our work with Kiwi.

Thank you, Kiwi Chimney!
A few years after we had a high efficiency boiler installed, I started to notice puddles on the cellar floor, emanating from the cleanout door of the boiler flue in cold weather. Our oil company, which typically serviced the boiler in early summer, never saw them, but the technicians and owner assured me it could not be condensation because “we’ve never seen condensation with this boiler and the flue size you have.” When the puddles became bigger and more persistent, I contacted local chimney companies. Three of them diagnosed condensation (one without even seeing the house) and gave me wildly varying estimates to rectify the problem. But none seemed trustworthy, so I asked a friend who, for many years, was a facilities manager for a couple of large corporations. He recommended Kiwi and said that Brad and crew had done work in his home.
I called Kiwi and Brad responded immediately (unusual among the companies with whom I had dealt previously). He came out quickly and diagnosed “probable” condensation. As the weather was warm, there was no apparent puddle, just the stains remaining from previous water infiltration. His next suggestion surprised me. Saying that he was not certain a liner would fix the problem and that he didn’t want to do a job that would not work, he asked to wait until the temperature dropped so he could come out again to inspect. When the cold weather arrived, I contacted the office and made an appointment. Several days before the appointment I received a confirmation/reminder call (again, not done by the other companies). Brad and Gabe (the crew foreman) arrived as scheduled and spent over an hour taking measurements and photos to document the problem and arrive at a proposed solution. By the time they left I had an itemized estimate in hand; the price was reasonable, so we arranged to be put on the schedule, which at that point was about 3 weeks out. I should stress that I was not charged for either diagnostic visit. Estimates are free and I would not have been charged even if I had not had Kiwi do the work!
Several days before the appointed time I again received a confirmation/reminder. On the scheduled day, the crew arrived on time and got to work. They finished within 5 hours and left the place clean. They took photos throughout the process and showed/told me what they were doing as they worked. I was impressed by their patience and willingness to explain when I asked questions.
Since the job was completed, we’ve had several stretches of cold weather. The cellar floor remains dry, there’s no leakage from the cleanout door, and (for the first time ever), I can see light gray smoke/water vapor escaping from the top of the chimney. There were no large icicles hanging from the chimney cap, as there had been before. I’m VERY pleased with the work done by Kiwi and am especially thankful for their professional demeanor and willingness to answer questions. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat. In fact, I already have. They’re scheduled to waterproof a friend’s chimney in the spring. If you’re looking for a chimney company, you’ll do well with Kiwi.
I am a first-time homeowner with not one single thing about a wood stove. I called everywhere to find a chimney service and Kiwi called me back immediately. From Meg finding the time to fit me into their busy winter schedule (and my fear of not having it ready for the winter time) and Brad coming in and helping me through the whole process, I felt like it was family. They are always there for you when you need them. They are professional, easy to talk to and the biggest thing is that you’ll never find someone with their skill, knowledge and dedication that they give you.
I refer them to everyone I know. They have been with me through everything and even taught me a thing or two. Brad was even so helpful to help me try to start my wood stove and even offered to come over the next day if I was still having issue! I cannot explain enough how amazing the team is. From the office and their crew, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my chimney work than Kiwi Chimney INC. Thank you guys!
We have used Kiwi Chimney for years now. Their service, follow up and attention to detail is excellent. Their prices are competitive, and they do the job with a smile on their face. I would recommend them to anyone.
